The Invisalign Treatment Process
During your consultation, one of our dentists will perform a comprehensive oral exam to determine whether you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. If you have minor-to-moderate orthodontic issues, Invisalign will likely be a great orthodontic option for you.
Creating Your Aligners
Once you’ve been approved for Invisalign treatment, we’ll scan your mouth and take images of your teeth. Then, the team at the Dental Health Center of Monmouth Beach will work with Invisalign to create a customized treatment plan to give you the straight smile you’ve always wanted. Creating your treatment plan may take up to a month.
Wearing Your Aligners
Once your treatment plan is finished and your aligners are created, you’ll come to our office to pick up your first several sets. Each set is to be worn for about 2 weeks, and must be worn for 20-22+ hours per day. If you don’t wear your aligners properly, this can result in treatment delays and other issues, so make sure to follow your dentist’s instructions.
Throughout treatment, you’ll need to come to our office every 4-6 weeks for a brief checkup with your dentist near Sea Bright, and to get your next few aligner sets. This process will continue until your treatment is complete.
Once you’ve finished with your final set of aligners, you’ll return to our office for one last checkup, and you’ll get a set of retainers. Make sure to wear your retainers as instructed after your Invisalign treatment is complete. This will keep your teeth from shifting back to their original positions.
Am I a Good Candidate for Invisalign?
As long as your mouth is healthy and free of cavities and gum disease, and you do not have severe bite problems or extremely crooked teeth, Invisalign may be an option for you.
